AUSTIN, Texas — As the Center for Immigration Studies recently reported, a United Nations-led “Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan (RMRP)” calls for more than 200 nonprofit groups to dole out $1.6 billion in cash debit cards, food, clothing, medical treatment, shelter, and even “humanitarian transportation” during 2024 to millions of U.S.-bound immigrants in 17 Latin American nations and Mexico.
EL PASO, Texas — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing a Catholic nonprofit organization that provides shelter to migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso after the organization did not immediately turn over client records. Paxton is accusing the organization of harboring and transporting migrants across the border.
In a statement, Paxton accused the nonprofit of “facilitating illegal entry to the United States, alien harboring, human smuggling, and operating a stash house.”
“The AG has now made explicit that its real goal is not records but to shut down the organization. It has stated that it considers it a crime for a Catholic organization to provide shelter to refugees,” the organization wrote.
The proposed Colville Family Haven is a 71-unit supportive housing community located off Buena Vista Drive, across from the Border Patrol station.
The cost of the project is estimated not to exceed $25 million. Funding will be a mix of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit dollars and a Housing Trust Fund loan.

“What if we created a place for people traveling through with no place to stay? A shelter? A safe house?”
“What would that look like? It might seem like a pipe dream, but not for long. Soon, we will create such a place”.
